Archdiocese of Hartford to participate in 40 Days for Life Campaign
September 24 – November 2, 2014

See calendar for parishes volunteering for Prayer Vigil at abortion clinic.

40 days vigilArchbishop Leonard P. Blair has approved Archdiocesan participation in the national 40 Days for Life Campaign. The campaign will run for 40 days from September 24, through November 2, 2014, preceding the November elections, with the hope of electing new, more pro-life local, state and national legislators. At the same time, the campaign alerts the general public to the negative effects abortion has on women, men, families and communities.

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion around the world. This fall, 24 nations will participate. The campaign is not a demonstration or protest; it is prayerful and conducted with utmost respect for all.

Each participating church will register for a specific day to hold 24 hours of adoration (6:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.) and 12 hours (6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) of peaceful, prayerful vigil at the abortion clinic the Hartford GYN Center, 1 Main Street, Hartford. Most churches choose two separate days: one for prayer at the abortion clinic and another for Adoration in church.

Mary Lou Peters, Assistant Program Coordinator for Pro-Life Activities for the Archdiocese of Hartford is the 40 Days for Life Campaign Director for the Archdiocese. Each church will have its own campaign leaders but for information and participation details, please call Mary Lou Peters at 203.745.7300 or the Pro-Life office at 203.639.0833 or email:
